Down here in Senior Land, it's common practice to use the term 'stop when you meet resistance' when talking about oldies who park at WalMart etc. They just slowly move into the bays and stop when they encounter the big wheel 'barrier' if there is one or another car if there isn't. Anything else is fair game too......a pole, a disabled sign, the cart bay, a tree, an employee ! While that action rarely involves even minor car damage and never involves personal damage, it's a different matter when they try to do it at road junctions too !
