Elbow Room and Schoolhouse Rock

I’ve elected to direct Ian to Schoolhouse Rock videos to learn about American History.

My dad is the history/government person in the family (actually, he knows lots about math and science, too, and sizing pipes with natural gas for pressure above 5 psi, which may be totally unrelated to what I’m talking about.

The British are coming!

Fun with the Electoral College

Three Ring Government

My favourite Schoolhouse Rock shows involved the grammer ones:

Verb: That’s What’s Happening

Noun: A Person, Place or Thing

  1. Does this little history lesson have something to do with that countdown timer in the sidebar? Hmmm?

Conjuction junction, what’s your function? Hooking up words and phrases and clauses…

  2. Schoolhouse Rock may be a bit inaccurate.

According to Bill Cosby, this happened at the beginning of the Revolutionary War. What else, but a coin flip?

Captain Harbords of the British, this is Captain Soberds of the settlers. Captain Soberds of the settlers, this is Captain Harbords of the British. Call the toss there, British. British called head. It’s tails. You lose the toss, British. The settlers win. What will you do, settlers?

All right. The settlers will wear any color clothes that they want to, shoot from behind the rocks, the trees and everywhere. The British must wear red and march in a straight line.

  3. Jenny – Yes, it does. Good catch! :)

BD – The British were definitely refined (and easy targets, I’ll bet) in their approach. :)
